As a child, the principal founder of Modular Greenhouses faced the loss of his grandfather to cancer, and from this tragic experience began a lifetime of interest and passionate research into health, nutrition, personal well being, and the correlation between food, the environment, and the essential principals of what constitutes health in individuals, families, and entire communities.
After years of studying the history and the sciences of botany, agriculture, and medicine, he came to a clear conclusion that organic foods and natural herbs were both central and essential to maintaining health.
In adapting to meet the demands of massive worldwide population growth, it was easy to see that modern commercial agriculture has significantly contributed to a degradation of the natural environment and allowed for severe compromises in the purity and the quality of the food we eat.
In less than a century, the fabric of American culture had gone from being largely an agrarian nation into a heavily industrialized country. America had become a place where not only are we inundated with countless environmental toxins, but fast food, genetically modified foods, pesticides, nutrient depleted soil, air & water pollution, and a hundred other disruptive influences were impacting the quality of our lives and our communities. Humans may be living longer, but they were certainly not living better.
In his view, the way had been lost. He watched food prices soar and felt little control over of the essential sources of life; food & water, that were now largely in the hands of corporations who were less interested in well being than in profits.
At the same time, he came to realize that there was far more to food than just nutrition. Food was the foundation of entire cultures, growing it and preparing it. It represents one of mans most distinctive and personally rewarding experiences.
Once he reclaimed his right & responsibly to live in harmony with nature, the founder went right to work on setting up his own greenhouse, and to start growing organic food all year round.
After a year of searching and finding no cost effective, easy to build, or truly durable personal greenhouses to purchase - one that was well engineered and fully guaranteed - he decided to start from scratch and build his own.
He was successful, but it had been such an learning curve and so much work it to get it done right, that he decided that it should be a lot easier for people everywhere to set up a cost effective engineered designed that was easy to install and would not blow down.
And from this the Modular Greenhouse System was born.
